Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Paralegal to join a prestigious law firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role focuses on supporting attorneys in a sophisticated construction and business litigation practice, with an emphasis on construction-related disputes such as contract claims, lien enforcement, payment disputes, defect claims, and other construction litigation matters. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation experience and case management skills, along with exposure to commercial real estate transactions and title matters, which is considered a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Litigation Support
- Assist attorneys in all phases of construction litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial preparation.
- Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and other court documents.
- Manage litigation calendars and track filing deadlines, hearings, mediations, and trial dates.
- Organize and maintain case files, evidence, project records, correspondence, and electronic discovery materials.
- Review and analyze construction contracts, subcontracts, change orders, payment applications, and project documentation.
- Assist with mechanic's liens, bond claims, lien waivers, and related construction law matters.
- Coordinate discovery responses, document productions, and witness information.
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, witness files, and hearing materials.
- Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Commercial Real Estate Support
- Assist with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development matters.
- Review title commitments, surveys, easements, restrictions, and due diligence materials.
- Conduct title searches and prepare title summaries and reports.
- Coordinate with lenders, title companies, surveyors, developers, and clients as necessary.
Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Support
- Assist attorneys with bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters involving construction and commercial real estate clients.
- Prepare and file court documents and pleadings.
- Organize case files and maintain litigation deadlines.
- Support discovery and document management efforts.
General Paralegal Responsibilities
- Draft correspondence, legal documents, and attorney work product.
- Conduct legal research using online legal research platforms.
- Manage electronic and physical case files.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and outside vendors.
- Support attorneys in meeting client objectives and deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3+ years of paralegal experience in litigation.
- Experience supporting construction litigation matters, including contract disputes, lien claims, payment disputes, or related construction law matters.
- Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and court filing requirements.
- Experience managing discovery, document productions, and litigation deadlines.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and case management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred
- 5+ years of construction litigation paralegal experience.
- Experience with mechanic's liens, bond claims, construction defect litigation, and related disputes.
- Exposure to commercial real estate transactions, title examination, or title searching.
- Experience supporting bankruptcy, creditors' rights, or commercial litigation matters.
- North Carolina litigation experience preferred.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent legal education.

Location: Raleigh, NC
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (In Office)
Salary: $70,000 - $95,000 annually
